Newsservers & downloads

Why the newsservers connected with UseNeXT allow such fast downloads

All the data available in the Usenet is saved on thousands of newsservers around the world, which are then bundled by the respective Usenet providers.

UseNeXT is the only Usenet provider to offer access to 6 server farms around the world. As a result, up to 30 connections can be established at once for downloading data. This ensures that all users enjoy a lightning fast and highly stable connection.

UseNeXT makes truly high speed downloads possible! Make the most of the full bandwidth of your DSL connection. The speed of your download is only limited by the speed of your DSL access.

The UseNeXT download world record

In 2007, this competition was set up to put the UseNeXT download speed to the test. All download speed junkies were challenged to download a 674 MB file as quickly as possible as part of the download world record attempt.

The result is several hundred participants and videos on YouTube as well as a happy winner who managed to download the 674 MB from the Usenet in an incredible 34 seconds!

You can read more information about the competition and the winning video on our special pages dedicated to the download world record.

SECURITY is also top priority at UseNeXT!

It goes without saying that security also has to be safeguarded when providing access to the Usenet. To ensure that access to the Usenet is optimally protected from outside influences, UseNeXT offers 256-bit SSL encryption. Additionally, all newsreaders recommended by UseNeXT support this encryption.
